Management of the National Real Estate Needs by the Real Estate Office

The Real Estate Office (Régie des bâtiments/Regie der Gebouwen) has been managing the real estate needs of the State since 1971. In 2006, legislation provided the Office with a new executive board and defined new functioning rules, among which the obligation to organise an internal supervision and an internal audit as well as to schedule the clients’ real estate needs over several years. This new organisation has not yet been fully implemented and the Office is still operating on the 2009-2011 management plan, which has not been updated nor replaced like it should be annually according to the legislation.
